Before the emergence of this faculty, Faculty of Education & Social Sciences (FESS) is formerly known as the Faculty of Education & Language Studies (FELS) as well as the Faculty of Social Sciences & Industrial Studies (FSSIS) offering programmes related to the Education and Social Sciences Industries. At present, this faculty has 4 Professors, 6 Associate Professors, 77 Lecturers, and 2 Assistant
Registrar, with 9 supporting staff under its wing. This number does not include part-time lecturers whose assistance is much needed by the faculty. TESL, Diploma in TESL, Diploma in Education (Preschool), Diploma in Education (Islamic Studies), Diploma in Library Science, Bachelor of Education TESL, Bachelor of Education Pre-School, Bachelor in Library Science, Bachelor of Education in Islamic Studies, Bachelor of Science in Psychology Industry, 4 Master Programmes, and 3 Doctorate Programmes. The faculty started as one of the pioneer faculties in UNISEL with the first intake of 93 students from the Malaysian Ministry of Health for Bachelor of Health Sciences, and then, followed by 100 students for the B. Ed (TESL) programme. For being a newly merged faculty, our strengths basically rest on the experienced and qualified academic staff that UNISEL obtained from strategic and systematic planning and the commitment provided by the UNISEL Board. Throughout a short span of 10 years, this faculty has attained approvals in offering accredited and recognised programmes.
