K.B.Women’s College is a prestigious women’s college in Hazaribag. It was established in the year 1963. It was then known as the ‘Women's College’ and later on, the college shifted to its present premises and was renamed as ‘Krishna Bhallabh Women’s College’.It was named after an active freedom fighter Krishna Ballabh Sahay ,who was appointed as the Revenue minister of Bihar after independence and also became the Chief Minister of unified Bihar. He contributed a lot to enact law to abolish the Zamindary system from the state. Krishna Ballabh Sahay also played a major role in the Land Reformation. Our college caters to the academic and professional needs of girls not only from Hazaribag but also from adjoining rural areas and nearby states. The college initially started with only 05 students in the Arts Stream and had a few teaching staffs. The Science Stream was introduced in the year 1975. And, the Commerce Stream was added subsequently. In 1995, vocational course in CND (Clinical Nutrition Dietetics) was added by taking assistance from UGC. A premier educational institution of 50 years old college is moving ahead in the direction of women’s empowerment in the true sense. It has achieved confidence for its commitment to academic excellence and the overall development of young women with optimism. In the “Golden Jubilee” year of its proud existence it has continued to produce students who have excelled in academics, sports and cultural fields. We provide our students ample academic environment rich in knowledge and supportive to their co-curricular interests in order to develop their full potential. The College has acquired a strong identity. It imparts degree level education. It has 18 departments and over 6500 students on rolls.
