Most important risk factor is undescended te**is, even those surgically corrected. o Normal te**is feels like a small hard-boiled egg. No hard and firm nodules should be palpated on the surface of the te**is. o The incidence rates of prostate cancer are 50% higher in black men than other racial groups. There are two categories of immunity: Passive immunity and Active immunity. o In passive immunity, antibodies are not produced by the individual but obtained from another source. o For example, a naturally acquired passive immunity includes placental transmission of antibodies from mother to fetus and transmission of antibodies in milk. o Artificially acquired passive immunity involves the injection of preformed antibodies; this may help prevent disease after the exposure of a pathogen such as the hepatitis A virus. o Passive immunity is temporary, in that antibodies from another source eventually break down. o Active immunity means that the individual produces his or her own antibodies. o Naturally acquired active immunity means that a person has recovered from a disease and now has antibodies and memory cells specific for that pathogen. For example, the pathogen which causes chicken-pox.
