The Gender Equality Cell successfully organized a seminar on “Cyber Crime against Women and Girls” on 14.05.2026 at Room No. B1 from 1:00 p.m. onwards.
The session was conducted by Dr. Ranjan Banerjee, Faculty Member, Department of History, Bethuadahari College, Nadia, West Bengal, who delivered an insightful talk on various aspects of cyber crimes against women and girls, emphasizing awareness, prevention, and safety measures in the digital era.

Inter-Department Faculty Exchange Programme

A Faculty Exchange Programme between the Departments of History and Political Science was held at Balagarh Bijoy Krishna Mahavidyalaya from 14.05.2026 to 15.05.2026.
Prof. Piu Banerjee of the History Department conducted classes for the Political Science students, while Prof. Kheyali Debnath of the Political Science Department took classes in the History Department.
The programme promoted interdisciplinary academic interaction and enriched the teaching-learning experience of both departments.

A wonderful example of academic collaboration and knowledge sharing 🤝

On 09.04.2026, Prof. Sujit Dutta, Department of Commerce, Balagarh Bijoy Krishna Mahavidyalaya, conducted classes at Rishi Bankim Chandra Evening College under the Faculty Exchange Programme as part of the MoU between the two institutions.

Such initiatives strengthen inter-institutional bonding, enrich students’ learning experiences, and promote academic excellence.

Today,
An Earth Hour Awareness Discussion was organized by the Nature Club of Balagarh Bijoy Krishna Mahavidyalaya on 27 March 2026 at Room A1. The programme was graced by Shri Biswajit Mukhopadhyay, an eminent legal expert from the West Bengal Pollution Control Board, as the speaker. He delivered an insightful talk on environmental protection, climate change, and the importance of energy conservation in daily life. Students and volunteers actively participated and shared their views. The session inspired everyone to adopt eco-friendly practices. The programme concluded with an appeal to observe Earth Hour on 29 March by switching off lights and contributing towards a greener and more sustainable future.

On the occasion of International Women’s Day, the Gender Equality Cell of Balagarh Bijoy Krishna Mahavidyalaya organized a one-day seminar and discussion. The theme of the programme was “From Domestic to Digital: Narratives of Womanhood — Struggles, Resilience and Transformation.” The seminar highlighted the struggles, strength, resilience, and changing roles of women in society. The keynote speaker was Dr. Ruma Ghosh, Associate Professor of Sri Gopal Banerjee College, who shared valuable insights on women’s empowerment and social transformation. Teachers and students actively participated in the programme, making it informative and inspiring. The event successfully conveyed the importance of gender equality and encouraged greater awareness about women’s rights and empowerment. 🌸

A Mental Health Counselling Session was successfully organised by the Students’ Psychological Wellness Cell of
Balagarh Bijoy Krishna Mahavidyalaya.
The session was conducted by Prof. Kheyali Debnath, Dept. of Political Science. Teachers and students were present in the programme and actively participated in the interactive discussion on mental well-being, stress management and emotional balance.
An important highlight of the session was the individual counselling provided to students by Kheyali Debnath, Counsellor, Dept of Pol.Sc.where students openly shared their concerns and received valuable guidance.
Such initiatives truly strengthen the mental and emotional health of our academic community. 🌿

Today, International Mother Language Day 2026 was celebrated at Balagarh Bijoykrishna Mahavidyalaya, organized by the Departments of Bengali, Sanskrit and English. Both teachers and students actively participated in the programme, making it vibrant and engaging. Prof. Partha Chattopadhyay delivered a speech on “Amar Bhaiyer Rokte Rangano,” and Dr. Prasenjit Basu spoke on “Moder Gorob Moder Asha.” Their insightful talks beautifully highlighted the significance of the Language Movement and the importance of preserving our mother tongue. The event was truly meaningful, inspiring, and memorable for everyone present.
