Our deepest condolences go to Louis Bothma's loved ones and all those affected by his untimely passing. Louis was a final year student of our Bachelor of Management Leadership (BML) programme.

We'll remember Louis for his dedication, hard work and go-getter attitude. May he rest peacefully.

The UFS Business School had the privilege of presenting the Financial Management and Cost Accounting Short Learning Programme on the QwaQwa Campus from 13 until 17 April.

This impactful initiative was made possible through funding from COGTA, supporting the development of the Traditional Council.

A special word of appreciation goes to Prof Cias Tsotetsi (QwaQwa Campus Vice-Principal: Academic and Research) for arranging the training and playing a pivotal role in bringing this initiative together.

We also extend our sincere thanks to Dr Calvin Mudzingiri for facilitating the programme and sharing his expertise with participants.

We are delighted to welcome Dr Arthur Mapanga to the UFS Business School, who joined us on 1 April 2026 as a Senior Lecturer.

We are especially proud to celebrate one of our own, Lee-Ann Swanepoel, the HCert and BML Coordinator, who graduated during the University of the Free State's April graduation ceremonies.

She achieved her Postgraduate Diploma in Labour Law with distinction; an exceptional accomplishment that truly reflects her dedication, perseverance, and pursuit of excellence.
