BEYOND THE X - Are we ready for what comes after 4 November?

We co-hosted this event with Defend Our Democracy, the Catholic Parliamentary Liaison Office, the Campaign for Digital Ethics (C.O.D.E.) and the Johannesburg Crisis Alliance last night.

What awaits us after South Africa’s upcoming local government elections? More of the same, or a path towards better governance?

Our panel brought together:

Research Seminar Series at School of Public Leadership

The School of Public Leadership at Stellenbosch University today hosted another session in its Research Seminar Series, featuring Mr Mofihli Teleki, who presented his PhD research on:

The role of advocacy by non-state actors in advancing the right to development in South Africa

The seminar provided an engaging platform for reflection and discussion around the role of non-state actors, advocacy and the advancement of development rights in the South African context.

Day 2 | Mentoring & Coaching for Senior Managers - Garden Route and Central Karoo

Day 2 brought another engaging and thought-provoking day of learning for senior managers from the Garden Route and Central Karoo.

Building on the discussions from Day 1, participants continued to explore the practical application from mentoring and coaching in the municipal environment, sharing experiences, perspectives and insights on strengthening leadership, developing people and building stronger teams.

The programme, facilitated by the School of Public Leadership at Stellenbosch University, in partnership with the Hanns Seidel Foundation and the Western Cape Government Department of Local Government, provided a valuable space for reflection, learning and meaningful engagement.

A successful two days of connection, collaboration and leadership development in the Garden Route and Central Karoo.

Strengthening Leadership Across the Western Cape | Second Leg

The journey continues!!!

The Mentoring and Coaching for Senior Managers programme has entered its second leg, bringing together Senior manager from the Garden Route and Central Karoo districts for two days of learning, reflection and meaningful engagement.

Facilitated by the School of Public Leadership - SPL at Stellenbosch University, in partnership with the Hanns Seidel Foundation Southern Africa and the Western Cape Government Department of Local Government, the programme creates a space for senior managers to explore practical approaches to mentoring, coaching, strengthen leadership capabilities and reflect on how these approaches can support stronger teams and improved service delivery.

From the Cape Winelands to Garden Route, the programme continues to support leadership development across the Western Cape's local government landscape.

Senior managers from the Cape Winelands DM and West Coast District continued exploring how effective mentoring, coaching, communication and self-awareness can contribute to stronger teams, improved organisational performance and better service delivery within the municipal environment.
