Our panel, Creative Industry Panel: Navigating Trends, AI & Early Careers, brought together top industry leaders to unpack AI's real-world impact, portfolio tips, and what it takes to thrive in today's landscape.

A massive thank you to our chair, Deon Opperman and distinguished panellists for sharing their invaluable insights and staying for 1-on-1 networking chats:

Ulrike Mieke Marais – Award-winning South African children's book illustrator and lecturer (represented by Bright Agency).
Zandré Coetzer – Acclaimed director, producer, and co-owner of Nagvlug Films (My f*k, Marelize!, HEN).
Dr Pieter GJ Koornhof – Legal consultant, Director of IESA, and game development industry expert.

From concept to camera, our photography students went behind the scenes of high-end fashion production with acclaimed photographer Aart Verrips, all powered by Sony.

In preparation for the Contemporary African Fashion Project, this exclusive workshop pushed students beyond standard garment documentation. Guided by Aart, they explored fashion photography as a powerful medium for cultural storytelling, blending location, styling, adornment, and everyday African life into compelling visual narratives.

Students gained real-world, hands-on experience on set—working alongside professional models and MUA teams, directing on location, and receiving live creative feedback between looks.

A massive thank you to for sponsoring this experience and investing in the next generation of visual storytellers!
