UJ Student Affairs The Student Accommodation & Residence Life division is mainly responsible for the accommodation of more that 6500 students.

We support, develop, and inspire students through holistic services, leadership development, wellness, and campus life initiatives. This is a vast division with 28 residences spread over 4 campuses at the University of Johannesburg, namely, Auckland Park Bunting Road Campus (shortened as APB campus), Auckland Park Kingsway Campus (shortened as APK campu

s), Doornfontein Campus (shortened as DFC Campus) and Soweto Campus (Shortened as SWC). Over and above the 28 residences we also have 4 Day Houses in the APK Campus, 1 Day House in the APB campus and 2 Day Houses in the DFC campus. You will get more information on the latter from the Student Accommodation & Residence Life portal.

Building Ethical Leaders Today for a Responsible Community Tomorrow. 🧡

The Student Ethics & Discipline (SE&D) Unit at the University of Johannesburg recently engaged with Grade 8 and 9 learners at New Nation Senior School in an impactful session focused on building a culture of ethical conduct and responsible decision-making.

Through meaningful discussions on non-academic transgressions specifically gangsterism, unethical behaviour and its consequences, learners were encouraged to understand the importance of making responsible choices and contributing positively to their communities.

The engagement is part of UJ’s commitment to empowering young people with the knowledge and values needed to become ethical leaders today and responsible citizens tomorrow.

Student Affairs is launching the Residence Starter Pack Initiative, a compassionate effort to support first-year students who arrive at our residences with limited resources. For many of these young people, the first weeks in res can be overwhelming, not only academically but also in terms of basic household essentials.



We kindly invite you, our dedicated staff members, as well as our students, to donate gently used items that are still in good, working condition. Specifically, we are in need of pots, irons, kettles, cutlery (spoons, forks, knives) and dishes (plates, bowls, cups).

These small but essential items will help deserving first-year students settle in with dignity and a sense of belonging. Your unused kitchenware could become the very thing that makes a student feel at home.
