📚🎨✨ Shakespeare reimagined!
The Durban University of Technology City Campus recently showcased 'Macbeth Slashed and Rendered: An Exploration of the Adaptive Process,' an exhibition by Dr. Ursula Vooght. It examined how classic texts evolve through modern reinterpretation and creative adaptation.
The exhibition invited audiences to engage with Macbeth through the lens of visual storytelling, while also celebrating the launch of Dr Vooght’s book, The Great Gatsby Meets Alain Badiou: Rethinking Fidelity in Film Adaptation. Visitors experienced a rich interdisciplinary dialogue between literature, visual art, film theory and performance, including extracts from Welcome Msomi’s uMabatha performed by DUT drama students.
A thought-provoking celebration of creativity, scholarship and cultural renewal at DUT’s City Campus.
