We congratulate Rene Bhengu, an Interior Design graduate, owner and founder of Rene Forbay Designs, who recently won two awards at the Empowerment and Recognition of Women in Construction (ERWIC) Awards. Bhengu won first place in Interior Design and Building Project of the Year and third place in Project Delivery Excellence of the Year.

Interior Design lecturer Michelle Reynolds congratulated Bhengu, saying, “This is such an incredible achievement and so well deserved! Rene is a valued member of our Advisory Board, has employed many of our graduates, and generously gives her time to support our students in their teaching and learning. We couldn’t be more thrilled to see her breaking glass ceilings in the construction industry and reaping the rewards of her dedication, talent and hard work.”
