Polokwane Municipality is currently led by fools, for there is no synonym to a fool, who are prepared to put the people`s municipality of peace and stars into disrepute, total dismay and absolute shutdown. The CCP will never allow the # Makoro-led cabal that reports to Harare, currently siphoning Polokwane Municipality to the detriment of its citizens.

The CCP stands firmly on the side of the people, and rejects the diabolically reckless behaviour of John Mpe and Thuso Zimbabwe. The Executive Mayor and Municipal Manager, who continually appoint foreign individuals over local capacities, must immediately resign. Polokwane has been transformed to become Zimbabwe City and an extension of Harare by structural benefits and reporting.

Such arrogance must be responded to with timely precision!

THE CONCERNED CITIZENS CALLED OUT FOR POLOKWANE MAYOR AND MUNICIPAL MANAGER TO RESIGN

A group named the Concerned Citizens of Polokwane is dissatisfied with the local municipality's response to their call for the resignations of executive mayor John Mpe and municipal manager Thuso Nemugomoni.

They made this request in early August after allegations of corruption and favoritism surfaced, suggesting that the officials awarded contracts to their friends and family.

The municipality denied these allegations, labeling them as a smear campaign. The group feels that the municipality did not properly address their concerns and only focused on a single aspect.

Spokesperson Phasoane Mphahlele expressed that all 45 wards in Polokwane may have to shut down the city, asserting that citizens have suffered under the current leadership, which has been backed by those now demanding a resignation.

The CWP is an established wing of the Concerned Citizens of Polokwane (CWP) with primary focus to labour related matters in Polokwane. The CWP will be officialized at the CCP Consultative Symposium which will be duly announced.

The CWP is fully aware of the mischievous efforts by the Executive Mayor and Municipal Manager of Polokwane Municipality, who intends to dismiss over 60 Polokwane Municipality employees for overtime related confusions on payments. This does not only constitute an unfair labour practice, but abuse of power.

The CWP raises the following questions:

1. Who authorised the payments, and who was the immediate line manager to approve the release of such payments?

2. Are processes related to municipal employees not overseen by the Municipal Manager?

3. Will the municipality charge Administrators involved in the process over the purported financial irregularity ?

4. What is the position of South African Municipal Workers Union (SAMWU) on the matter?

6. How and why is there an involvement of the Executive Mayor in Human Resource related matters?

7. Who else is not being charged within the Municipality for similar or related chargers, if these charges?
