💙🩵 GO TURQUOISE FOR THE ELDERLY 🩵💙

Emmanuel Verpleegskool Pretoria Campus students proudly stand in support of the “Go Turquoise for the Elderly” campaign — raising awareness for the dignity, safety, care, and respect of our elderly community members. From 15 May to 15 June, South Africans are encouraged to wear turquoise and show compassion towards older persons, especially those vulnerable to neglect, loneliness, and abuse.

As future nurses and caregivers, our students understand that caring for the elderly is not just a duty — it is a privilege. Every wrinkle tells a story, every elder carries wisdom, and every person deserves to age with dignity and love.

Thank you to our amazing nursing students for showing kindness, compassion, and support to the older generation. đź’™

Today Emmanuel Verpleegskool Pretoria Campus observe the International Day of Action for Women’s Health and stand in support of menstrual dignity and women’s health rights for all. 💜

This year’s message reminds us that people who menstruate must be — free from shame, stigma, discrimination, and period poverty.

In South Africa, menstrual health remains an important educational and public health issue. Government programmes have already supported more than 4.3 million learners with sanitary products since 2019, helping girls stay in school with dignity and confidence.

Research and educational reports further show that many girls still miss school due to lack of access to sanitary products, sanitation facilities, and menstrual health support.

As a nursing education institution, we believe that menstrual health is healthcare, dignity, education, and empowerment. Let us continue creating safe spaces for awareness, compassion, support, and open conversation.

Please support the School's sanitary pad drive to distribute products to identified Schools that are in need of support.

Happy Nurses Day to all our nursing students!

Today we celebrate not only qualified nurses, but also those who are courageously walking the journey to become one. Every class attended, every practical completed, every patient cared for and every late-night study session is shaping you into future healthcare heroes.

To our auxiliary and enrolled nurses already serving while studying further - thank you for the care and compassiom you already bring to the profession.

Never underestimate the value of your calling. Nursing is more than a career; it is kindness, sacrifice, strength, and heart in action. We are proud of each of you and excited to see the nurses you are becoming.

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!

To all our nursing students on this Mother’s Day 🌸

Today we celebrate mothers in all the beautiful ways they nurture, guide, comfort, and care for others. As nursing students, many of you already step into a special kind of “mothering” role every day — through compassion, patience, encouragement, advocacy, and gentle care for those placed in your hands.

We also honour our teaching staff, who so often stand in as mothers away from home — guiding, mentoring, supporting, encouraging, correcting, and believing in students during difficult moments. The nursing journey is not only built on textbooks and practical hours, but also on the care, wisdom, and patience shared by those who teach and lead.

Not all nurturing happens within a family home. Sometimes it happens in hospital wards, classrooms, clinics, old age homes, and quiet moments beside a patient’s bed. A reassuring hand, kind words, listening ears, mentorship, and simply being present can bring comfort more powerful than medicine.

To those mothers, those carrying the role of caregiver and mentor in other ways — we honour you today. 💙

May you continue to grow into nurses who heal not only with knowledge and skill, but with humanity, empathy, and heart.

Happy Mother’s Day to all our incredible Moms!. 🌷

In Loving Memory - Sr Agnes 🤍

It is with deep sadness, we extend our heartfelt condolences on the sudden passing of Sister Agnes Tjale.

Sister Agnes was a remarkable nurse, colleague, mentor, and friend who touched many lives through her quiet strength, kindness, and unwavering willingness to serve. Over the past ten years, we had the privilege of walking a long road alongside her, and her contribution to both Procare and Emmanuel Verpleegskool School will never be forgotten.

Although she was part of the Procare team, she never hesitated to step in wherever help was needed. From assisting with logistical arrangements and networking during the early days of establishing the School, to travelling with us to rural facilities and supporting training initiatives, Sister Agnes always made herself available with a gentle smile and a willing heart.

She served in many capacities — as an ICU nurse, Unit Manager, Clinical Facilitator, and Trainer — and in every role she carried herself with professionalism, humility, faithfulness, and compassion. She was not loud or boastful, but quietly dependable, deeply caring, hardworking, and a true team player.

Her interest in the growth and success Procare and of the School remained constant through the years, and her presence brought calmness, warmth, and encouragement to those around her.

Sister Agnes will be greatly missed, lovingly remembered, and forever appreciated for the difference she made in so many lives.

Our thoughts and prayers are with her family, friends, colleagues, and everyone who had the honour of knowing her.

Rest peacefully, Sister Agnes. 🕊️
