Gender Based Violence Awareness Talk

Dear Superintendent Sharon and Warrant Officer Yolande,

Thank you so much for taking the time to visit Emmanuel Verpleegskool Pretoria Campus and present such an important and difficult topic on Gender-Based Violence (GBV) to our students.

You handled a very heavy and sensitive subject with great professionalism, compassion and clarity. The presentation was both informative and practical, and we especially appreciated how you created an environment where the students felt comfortable participating and engaging in the discussion.

It was particularly valuable for our nursing students to gain a better understanding of how nurses and the South African Police Service can work together when GBV is identified in practice. Your guidance on recognising the signs, understanding the appropriate steps to take, and knowing when and how to involve the police will be invaluable to them in their future roles as healthcare professionals.

Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience with our students and for allowing such a meaningful and open discussion. We truly appreciate your contribution to their education and to preparing them to respond appropriately and compassionately when they encounter GBV in their professional practice.

Thank you once again for a very informative and worthwhile session.

Farewell but no goodbye Ms Mari MCleod

Today we say a heartfelt thank you to our dear colleague, Mrs Mari McLeod, as she concludes her two-year journey with us to focus on her family and health.

Marie, your dedication, kindness, and unwavering willingness to help have been such a blessing to our team. Whether it was lecturing, clinical facilitation, developing study material, or stepping in at a moment's notice to help wherever needed, you always did so with a willing heart and a beautiful spirit. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and we knew we could always rely on you.

Your invaluable contribution has left a lasting impact on our students, your colleagues, and our nursing school. We are truly grateful for the care, excellence, and compassion you have shared so generously over the past two years.

While we will certainly miss seeing you every day, we are excited for this new season of your life. We pray that it will be filled with renewed strength, good health, precious family moments, and many blessings.

Please remember that you will always be part of our family. Our door is always open, and we look forward to seeing you pop in for a cup of coffee and a chat whenever you can.

Thank you, Marie, for everything you have meant to us. We wish you and your family God's richest blessings as you begin this new chapter. You will always hold a special place in our hearts. ❤️
