G20 Summit on South African soil
We stood tall as South Africa hosted the G20 Leaders' Summit, a momentous occasion that marked a new chapter in global politics. For the first time in history, a G20 summit took place on African soil, and we made our mark. We showed the world that a Black-led country, a constitutional democracy, can take the moral high road in global affairs.
The United States' boycott was a testament to our strength, not our weakness. They fear our example, fear that we'll inspire others to stand up for justice and equality. But we refused to kneel, and we refused to back down.
The G20 summit was a platform for us to showcase our capabilities, our creativity, and our determination. We discussed new industrial corridors, infrastructure pipelines, digital trade reforms, and more. We shaped the agenda, and we defended the role of the Global South.
The US may have boycotted the summit, but they couldn't boycott the future. The Global South is where the majority of growth is occurring, and we're not going to let anyone hold us back. We're taking control of our own destiny, and we're shaping the world we want to live in.
Trump's empty chair was a symbol of his own weakness, not ours. He walked away from the world's most dynamic energy transition partnerships, the fastest-growing digital economies, and the richest green mineral belts. He walked away from the future, and he's been left behind.
We stood proud, knowing that the world is a community of equals, a table of many voices. We showed that Africa cannot be ignored, that the Global South has significant economic weight. We've marked a turning point in history, and the United States can keep its empty chair. The rest of us are building the future.
