EDEN UNIVERSITY ICT STUDENT’S INNOVATION ATTRACTS INTEREST AT 2026 ICT WATER SECTOR FORUM
Two third-year Bachelor of Science in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) students from Eden University participated in the ICT Water Sector Forum 2026, held at the Grand Palace Hotel in Lusaka from 14 to 15 October 2026.
The forum, organised by the National Water Supply and Sanitation Council (NWASCO) and the Water Resources Management Authority (WARMA), brought together stakeholders to discuss issues relating to information and communication technology in the water sector.
During the forum, Mr Emmanuel Amatende presented AquaReserve, an innovation that attracted interest from three potential investors interested in exploring opportunities to work with the project.
The participation provided the students with an opportunity to present their ideas, engage with industry professionals and gain practical exposure to the application of ICT in addressing real-world challenges.
The students, Mr Emmanuel Amatende and Mr Mukayi, represented Eden University’s School of Education, Humanities and Social Sciences under the supervision of Dr Neelam Tiwary, ICT Section Programme Coordinator, Mr Webster Muma and Mr Misheky Simbeye.
Dr Tiwary encouraged ICT students to translate their classroom knowledge into practical solutions through innovation and engagement with industry.
“Your classroom knowledge is the starting point, not the finish line. Dare to turn your ideas into solutions, because one innovation, one opportunity, and one bold step can change your future and make a difference in the world,” she said.
Eden University continues to encourage students to develop innovative technology solutions, engage with industry stakeholders and apply their knowledge to challenges within their communities and beyond.
