A NEW CHAPTER: FROM STABILISATION TO GROWTH — LET US GROW ZAMBIA TOGETHER
Today, 1st September 2026, marks another important chapter in Zambia’s development journey following the inauguration of President Hakainde Hichilema for a renewed mandate to serve the people of Zambia.
The President’s message was clear: the next five years must focus on growth, expansion, opportunity and prosperity, building on the economic stabilisation achieved during the first term.
At the centre of this vision is the GROW ZAMBIA Agenda, which seeks to expand and diversify key sectors including agriculture, mining, tourism and energy, while accelerating infrastructure development and industrial transformation.
The ambitious targets include:
🇿🇲 10 million tonnes of maize
⚡ 10,000 MW of electricity
🌍 5 million tourists
⛏️ 3 million tonnes of copper
🌱 3 million tonnes of soya
🌾 1 million tonnes of wheat
🍬 1 million tonnes of sugar
🐄 US$1 billion in beef export revenue
Most importantly, economic growth must translate into improvements in the everyday lives of our people — jobs for young people, markets for farmers, capital for entrepreneurs, opportunities for women in business, quality education and healthcare, and a better future for every Zambian child.
The elections are now behind us. This is a time for unity, hard and smart work, reconciliation and national development. Regardless of our political preferences, we share one country and one future.
May we all play our part in building a peaceful, inclusive, productive and prosperous Zambia.
One Zambia, One Nation, One People. 🇿🇲
Forward Together. Let us GROW ZAMBIA!
