Government Engineering College (GECT) , Thrissur a centre of technical excellence and one of the most prestigious institution of Technical Education in Kerala. The foundation stone of the college was laid by late Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of India, on 26th April 1958. The college was formally inaugurated by the late Shri. Thanu Pillai, the then Chief Minister of Kerala on 2

nd February 1962. GECT UAE alumni was formed in 1995 in order to bring the alumni of GECT who are residing in UAE under one umbrella. With more than 600 active members, it is one of the largest alumni of engineers in UAE.
