Dubai Medical University was honored to welcome Prof. Joseph T. DiPiro, a distinguished leader in pharmacy education and lead editor of "Pharmacotherapy: A Pathophysiologic Approach," one of the most widely used pharmacotherapy textbooks worldwide. He has also served as President of both the American College of Clinical Pharmacy and the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy.

During his visit, Prof. DiPiro toured our campus and delivered a lecture titled "Reflections on Pharmacy Practice and Education," sharing valuable insights with our students and faculty on the evolution of the profession.

We thank Prof. DiPiro for his time, expertise, and inspiration to the next generation of pharmacists at DMU.

Dubai Medical University's College of Pharmacy was honored to welcome Prof. Joseph T. DiPiro, PharmD — a globally renowned pharmacy educator, scholar, and academic leader.

Prof. DiPiro is Professor Emeritus & Past Dean at Virginia Commonwealth University, Professor Emeritus at the University of Georgia, and Dean Emeritus at the Medical University of South Carolina. A former President of both AACP and ACCP, he's also known for editing Pharmacotherapy: A Pathophysiologic Approach for 13 editions.

During his visit, Prof. DiPiro toured our simulation labs, sterile compounding lab, drug discovery lab, AI & innovation facilities, and integrative medicine garden — then delivered a powerful presentation to our faculty and students on the future of pharmacy practice and education.

A truly inspiring exchange of knowledge between global pharmacy leadership and the evolving pharmacy landscape of the UAE and the region. 🇦🇪

Dubai Medical University proudly highlights the international academic contribution of Prof. Naglaa Shehab, Professor in the Pharmaceutical Sciences Department, College of Pharmacy, who was invited as a guest speaker by UTA’45 Jakarta to deliver an online lecture on the Structure–Activity Relationship (SAR) and Bioactivity of Natural Products. The session engaged pharmacy students in exploring how the structural characteristics of natural products influence their pharmacological activity and therapeutic potential. The interactive lecture fostered meaningful discussions in phytochemistry and pharmacognosy, concluding with an engaging Kahoot assessment to reinforce learning outcomes.
