Advancing Dental Excellence: RAKCODS Scientific Day on Digital Restorative Dentistry
RAK College of Dental Sciences (RAKCODS), in collaboration with Truemed Professional Medical Services, is pleased to organize a Scientific Day dedicated to Digital Restorative Dentistry, featuring an educational lecture and hands-on workshop exclusively for RAKCODS students and interns.
The scientific program, entitled “Precision and Esthetics in the Digital Era: Predictable Indirect Restorations from Preparation to Finish,” will be delivered by the distinguished Prof. Hatem M. El-Damanhoury, DDS, MDS, PhD, ABOD, Professor of Restorative Dentistry and Program Director of MDS in Prosthodontics, College of Dental Medicine, University of Sharjah, UAE.

🎓 Heartfelt congratulations to Ms. Hala AE Shat and Ms. Batoul Ibrahim from RAK College of Dental Sciences (RAKCODS), RAK Medical and Health Sciences University, for securing 3rd Place in the Undergraduate Poster Competition at the Annual Dental Conference 2026 at Gulf University.
Their award-winning research poster, “Dermatoglyphics in Children: Dental Caries, Occlusion and Dental Anxiety (MDAS) – A Cross-Sectional Study,” was presented under the supervision of Dr. Vivek Padmanabhan.
Dr. Monyana Mohamed and Dr. Abd AlKadar Mohamed presented their research poster, “Prevalence of MIH and Enamel Hypomineralization in Children Visiting RAKCODS,” under the supervision of Dr. Vivek Padmanabhan.
🌟 Distinguished Institutional Recognition
Adding to this occasion, Prof. Muhammed Mustahsen Rahman, Dean of RAKCODS, was honoured as a Special Guest at the conference in recognition of his academic leadership and valuable contributions to dental education.

Advancing Digital Dentistry at RAKCODS:

RAK College of Dental Sciences (RAKCODS) successfully conducted a Digital Dentistry Workshop for faculty members and Master’s students, providing an engaging opportunity to enhance their knowledge and practical skills in the rapidly evolving field of digital dentistry.
The workshop combined education, innovation, and hands-on learning, allowing participants to explore contemporary digital workflows and their applications in clinical practice and postgraduate education.
The workshop had been coordinated by Dr. Md Sofiqul and presented by Dr. Mahmoud Hassan.
The event reflected RAKCODS’s continued commitment to faculty development, postgraduate education, innovation, and the integration of advanced digital technologies into contemporary dental practice.

Promoting Professionalism Across All Academic Years at RAKCODS
RAK College of Dental Sciences (RAKCODS) successfully conducted a series of Professionalism Presentations for undergraduate dental students across all academic years, presented by Dr. Fadia Alfateh, Assistant Professor of Prosthodontics and RAKCODS Representative for Student Affairs.
The series aimed to strengthen students’ understanding of professional values, ethical conduct, responsibility, effective communication, respect, teamwork, and professional behaviour throughout the different stages of their dental education and clinical training. The sessions also reinforced the vision, mission, and core values of RAKCODS and RAKMHSU, encouraging students to carry these principles throughout their academic journey and future professional practice.
Engaging students from the first through the final year reinforced the message that professionalism is a continuous journey that develops alongside academic knowledge and clinical competence and forms an essential foundation for becoming responsible, ethical, and compassionate dental professionals.
This initiative reflects RAKCODS’s continued commitment to developing future dentists who demonstrate not only clinical excellence but also the professional values, integrity, ethical standards, and sense of responsibility expected of the dental profession.

Strengthening a Culture of Patient Safety and Continuous Improvement at RAKCODS
RAK College of Dental Sciences (RAKCODS) successfully conducted its Annual Patient Safety Training for all faculty and staff, delivered by Dr. Vivek Padmanabhan, Associate Professor of Pedodontics, Chairperson of Clinical Sciences, and Chairperson of Quality and Patient Safety.
The annual training aimed to reinforce the fundamental principles of patient safety, quality of care, risk awareness, professional responsibility, effective communication, and continuous improvement within the clinical and academic environment.
The session provided an important opportunity for faculty and staff to reflect on their shared responsibility in maintaining a safe, high-quality, and patient-centered environment, while strengthening a culture in which patient safety remains an integral part of everyday clinical practice.
The training was conducted as part of the KAIZEN Workshops for Professional Development, organized by the Human Resources Office, reflecting the institution’s commitment to continuous learning, quality enhancement, and ongoing professional development.
This initiative further supports the vision, mission, and core values of RAKCODS and RAKMHSU, emphasizing excellence, accountability, teamwork, and a sustained commitment to quality and patient safety.

🩺 World Patient Safety Day 2026 🩺

On 17 September 2026, we came together to recognize World Patient Safety Day under the theme:

“Safe Care for Life – Safe Care for Noncommunicable Diseases.” (WHO)

The awareness program highlighted the importance of making patient safety a shared responsibility across every aspect of healthcare. Through engaging activities, interactive games, a Patient Safety Pledge Wall, patient feedback opportunities and more, participants came together to reflect on how small, everyday actions can make a meaningful difference.

From effective communication and accurate documentation to following safety protocols, reporting incidents and near misses, and listening to patients — every action matters.
