Let’s head to Greece! 🇬🇷🏛️

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering is thrilled to announce our next adventure - an 8-day journey through the heart of Greece from January 3 to 10, 2027!

This trip blends ancient history, winter mountain landscapes, hands-on culture, and academic discovery - a classic Athens base paired with an unforgettable mountain loop through Delphi and Meteora.

We begin in Athens, the cradle of Western civilization. We’ll climb to the mighty Acropolis and Parthenon 🏛️, explore the world-class Acropolis Museum, and wander the atmospheric streets of Plaka & Monastiraki. We’ll roll up our sleeves for an interactive Greek cooking class 🍽️, then chase a spectacular sunset over the Aegean at the Temple of Poseidon at Cape Sounion 🌅.

Then it’s up into the mountains! ❄️ We’ll explore the stone-built winter village of Arachova on Mount Parnassus, sampling local cheeses, olives, and sweets, and enjoy an evening of stargazing with a professional astronomer and telescopes ✨.

We’ll walk the Sacred Way at the legendary site of Delphi, stretch our legs on a short Parnassus nature trek 🌲, and stand beneath the breathtaking cliff-top monasteries of Meteora, a UNESCO wonder 🪨 - with an optional off-road buggy adventure 🚙!

The CSE department hosted another successful edition of the “AUS High School Computing Bootcamp,” offering a mix of educational and engaging activities to inspire students in grades 10–12 and introduce them to the exciting world of computing. The bootcamp was attended by students from 13 schools across the UAE, and provided hands-on experiences in various fields through three practical workshops focused on the Blockchain, Microcontroller Development, and Computer Vision. The event was supported by the Sharakah Program, the Blockchain Club, the Computer Engineering Club, and the Artificial Intelligence Club.

The 14th AUS High School Computing Camp is an educational and entertaining event, targeted at students between grades 10-12.

The 14th edition of the camp will be running between 2nd and 7th of July 2022. Registration Deadline: 16th of June 2022.

Registration is limited to UAE resident students between grades 10-12. Registration is FREE on a competitive basis.

Top honors have been granted to three teams of AUS students in the Emirates Mars Mission’s Planet X challenge held recently in Dubai. Teams were tasked with designing a 3D model of an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle to fly in Planet X’s atmosphere and building an Unmanned Ground Vehicle that can finish five missions in five minutes. In designing the UAV, teams had to take into account the conditions of Planet X, such as its atmospheric pressure, gravity and surface temperature.
