Office Politics:
Office politics, an ugly fact, which everybody must face, whether they want it or not. According to a research 98% of employees face bad behavior from colleagues at work, which we normally called office politics. Some employees play an active role in creating a negative environment at office. These are the people who have grown up in negative environment at home/ surrounded by friends with low values. They also think office politics is necessary for career growth. We can promote positive attitude at work by following tips:
· The more flexible your attitude is, the more friends you would have at office. I don’t mean to compromise with office values and norms.
· Be careful while appreciating somebody! If you don’t appreciate a deserving guy, only one colleague gets hurt and if you appreciate an undeserving guy, all get hurt;
· If you are sensitive of people’s wrong attitude, you will only torture yourself for each small issue caused by a colleague. So, you should also learn how to ignore where necessary;
· Never rush for higher positions. If you get promoted, congrats. If not, it doesn't matter. You will always be remembered for your knowledge and skills, not for your designation;
· Expect nothing! If somebody helps, feel thankful. If not, you will learn to know things on your own;
· What happens in team, should remain in team. Never share with other people otherwise it may be used against you;
· Be sensible! Your likes or dislikes at home/friends’ gathering may not work at office;
· If you are not communicating with office colleagues at work in order to avoid politics, you are wrong. Because not communicating with colleagues itself is negative communication. You must jump in water and learn how to swim from water to water;
· This is very common that seniors/colleague takes credit of your work. I think you should not react against your senior/colleague otherwise you may pay heavy price. Keep your energy and hard work up! you don’t need to convince others that your senior/colleague is jerk, instead you learn how to adjust with him/her like others do;
· The low values and incompetent employees take support of hypocrisy/chaplosi/double standards for career growth. Be genuine, be polite and be fair with everyone at office, I am sure you will prevail at the end.
