CIRAC cordially invites you to our roundtable taking place at Forum Stadtpark next Tuesday, May 12th (6:00–8:00pm).

Under the topic “Interoception: Artistic Explorations of Loneliness, Aging, Grief, and Death”, Ulla Kriebernegg and Nina De Bettin Padolin will lead a discussion with Garry Barker (Leeds Arts University), Katja Heitmann (Tilburg, NL), Iza Kavedžija (University of Cambridge), and Sonja Rinofner-Kreidl (University of Graz). Using interoception—the perception of internal bodily states—as its departure point, the roundtable will explore perspectives and questions of how aging, disability, loneliness, grief, and death can be made visible through artistic and scholarly practices.

We look forward to seeing you at Forum Stadtpark for an engaging conversation!

Places of Health Practice in Graz: On-Site Visit at Gesundheitsdrehscheibe Graz

As part of the new Master’s Plus module in Health Humanities, the course moved outside of the classroom and into “Gesundheitsdrehscheibe” for an on-site visit. Founded in 2023, Gesundheitsdrehscheibe is an initiative that aims to provide people living in Graz with access to information surrounding questions about health, navigating health care systems, and health promotion. In an in-depth conversation with project leaders and team members, students had the opportunity to get insights into their diverse work and ask questions about the initiative. In this insightful exchange, students and team members of Gesundheitsdrehscheibe reflected on the potentials and challenges of their work as well as on what it means to work in a public health-oriented institution. The visit allowed students to deepen their knowledge and gain insights into how health is practiced in Graz and which organizations shape this practice.
