- Internationalisation of studies & teaching
- Promotion of mobility in higher education

✨ UK zurück bei Erasmus+: Ab 2027 können Studierende wieder einfacher zwischen der EU und Großbritannien mobil sein – ein wichtiger Schritt für die internationale Hochschulzusammenarbeit.

Vor diesem Hintergrund nahm unsere stellvertretende Leitung Heidrun Mörtl am Event des British Council zum Thema „UK joining Erasmus+“ teil. Nach den Begrüßungsworten von Ambassador Lindsay Skoll und Jakob Calice (OeAD) folgten spannende Einblicke von Iona Murdoch (UUKI) sowie eine hochkarätige Paneldiskussion mit Vertreter*innen der Universität Wien, FH St. Pölten, KPH Wien/NÖ und der University of Exeter.

Der Austausch zeigte deutlich: Die Rückkehr des Vereinigten Königreichs zu Erasmus+ eröffnet neue Chancen für Kooperation, Mobilität und gemeinsame Bildungsperspektiven in Europa. 🌍🎓

➡️ Auf dem zweiten Bild ist unsere stellvertretende Leitung Heidrun Mörtl gemeinsam mit Ambassador Skoll und Kyle Schmude von der TU Wien zu sehen.

We were pleased to welcome Marika Bendová from Charles University, Prague – 3rd Faculty of Medicine @3. lékařská fakulta Univerzity Karlovy to Med Uni Graz from April 27 – April 29. 🤝🌍

Hosted by the OU Excellence Development and Internationalization, the visit focused on the exchange of experiences and best practices in:

✨ Welcome Services for International Guests and Students

The program also included a social and cultural exchange with:

Med Uni Graz expertise for Ukrainian surgeons 🧑‍⚕️🏥

From April 13-17, 12 medical specialists from Danylo Halytsky Lviv National Medical University trained at Med Uni Graz in advanced reconstructive head and neck surgery – combining lectures, demonstrations, discussions of complex cases and hands-on practice on Thiel-embalmed specimens.

The training course was organized by the Division of Macroscopic and Clinical Anatomy, headed by Niels Hammer and with the support of Veronica Antipova, in collaboration with the Division of Plastic, Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery (Lars-Peter Kamolz and Stefan Spendel and team) and the Division of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (Wolfgang Zemann and Mauro Pau and team).

The skills gained will support treatment of war-related injuries in Ukraine and the training of future specialists. This training was funded by the European Union through the Erasmus+ program. 🇺🇦 🤝🇦🇹

Last Thursday, April 16, we hosted our Annual Tax Information Event – a great joint initiative bringing together the universities in Graz. TU Graz Graz Graz

Experts from the Institute of Management Accounting and Taxation at the University of Graz delivered a practical, hands-on session on completing the Austrian income tax return, along with key insights into personal income taxation in Austria—especially tailored for international staff members.

After the informative session, participants stayed on for a relaxed get-together with food and drinks, offering plenty of opportunities to connect, exchange experiences, and ask individual questions.

Thank you to everyone who joined and contributed to such an engaging and supportive atmosphere!
