Hello and welcome back from Seoul, South Korea! 🇰🇷
I got many questions about what is the biggest difference between spending my semester abroad here at Ewha Womans University in Seoul and studying in Graz and I can definitely tell, it’s the campus life! At home we actually don’t have a “real campus” and here everything is nearby and there’s always something fun going on.
Let’s start with the heart of our beautiful campus: The Ewha Campus Complex ECC! In this building, which is located very central, you can find nearly everything you need. We have a bank, a gym, a convenience store and multiple other food options including the main cafeteria, a book store, printing shops and even an own cinema.
Almost all of the buildings at campus are constructed in the same beautiful, old but yet modern style as the main building. In my view, this creates a really lovely scene and it’s nice to walk around campus. However, the university grounds (just like Seoul in general haha) are very hilly and you often have to walk long distances between classes, which is why there’s a shuttle bus and several bus stops.
For us exchange students, of course, the International House (I-House) is of great interest too and based on what I’ve heard from other universities and students, I can tell that the housing for international students at Ewha is particularly nice and very spacious!
The main gate is only 3 minutes away from I-House and thank god, there are no entry curfews for exchange students (only for Koreans). If you pass the main gate, there are a lot of sweet cafès where you can study or take a break and right besides it, there’s a big running track and lacrosse, football or whatever field.
Last but not least, of course we also have a library where you cannot only rent books but also book private “study cabins” and other seat options simply through the online system.
