On the second day of our MCM excursion, Tuesday, 19 May 2026, we welcomed the Carinthian Welcome Center to the university, represented by Astrid Kircher-Yu. She provided valuable insights into the center’s wide range of activities supporting international professionals, students, and newcomers in Carinthia. The presentation highlighted how the center assists with relocation, administrative processes, language and integration support, and networking opportunities within the regional labour market. It offered an interesting perspective on how Carinthia positions itself as an attractive and accessible region for international talent.
We concluded our excursion on Thursday, 21 May 2026, with a visit to KELAG in Klagenfurt. We were warmly welcomed by Martin Ehrenstein and his colleagues, who introduced us to the company and its role within the Austrian energy sector. The visit provided valuable insights into sustainable energy production, communication and social media strategies, and modern marketing approaches. Particularly interesting was learning how KELAG combines technical infrastructure, environmental responsibility, and public communication in the context of the energy transition.
Together, these final days offered a well-rounded conclusion to our excursion, combining perspectives on regional development, internationalisation, and sustainable industry practices.
