We have been recognised as a Top Apprenticeship Employer 2026/27 in the Education & Research category. The quality seal is awarded by Kronen Zeitung together with the IMWF Institute. Around 1,400 companies across Austria were included in the independent analysis.

Apprenticeship training has long been an important part of our staff development. Our apprentices gain practical experience in an international higher education environment, explore different areas of our organisation and develop professionally and personally.

✈️📍 A semester highlight on the Spanish coast

Working on international corporate events in Mallorca gave Jane a closer look at the industry she hopes to join after graduation. During her internship at Maximice, one of Spain's largest destination management companies, she supported the planning and coordination of events for clients from around the world.

As a student of our Tourism and Leisure Management bachelor degree programme, Jane experienced first-hand how classroom knowledge can be applied in an international setting. Along the way, she strengthened her English and Spanish skills and gained valuable professional experience.

Today, Jane is back in Krems and focused on completing her degree. Her next goal is a career in the international events industry.

🌍💻 Global leadership starts with human skills.

For more than 20 years, Maria Agnes Mayer has been at the forefront of technological transformation at Microsoft. Her journey from our Export-oriented Management programme, now International Business and Economic Diplomacy, led her from Vienna to the United States and into senior global leadership roles.

Having recently returned to Austria after more than a decade abroad, Maria reflects on what organisations and professionals need most in the age of AI. Her answer is not technology alone. Critical thinking, adaptability, emotional intelligence and the ability to unite people around a shared vision are becoming increasingly valuable.

As AI reshapes workplaces worldwide, Maria's career demonstrates that successful transformation is ultimately about people. Technology creates possibilities. Leadership creates impact.

🔎💡 : Real healthcare challenges, turned into working prototypes by our students.

How can workflows in the healthcare sector be made more efficient? Which digital tools can help? These are the kinds of questions our students in the Management von Gesundheitsunternehmen master degree programme tackle in our Real World Case Studies. A fixed part of the third semester, the format starts each autumn with a three-day Design Thinking workshop where students and partner organisations work on a real challenge together.

"Design Thinking is an ideal method for analysing complex challenges in healthcare in a structured way and developing user-centred, practical solutions together. People are always at the centre, whether patients, staff or others involved," says Manfred Pferzinger, programme director and Design Thinking coach.

Over several months, students and partners move from question to prototype, combining practical expertise, academic knowledge and fresh student perspectives.

This year our students work with partners including Herz-Kreislauf-Zentrum Groß Gerungs, ASZ - Das arbeitsmedizinische / sicherheitstechnische Zentrum in Linz, "Tut gut!" Gesundheitsvorsorge GmbH, Fresenius Kabi Austria GmbH, Caritas der Erzdiözese Wien - Hilfe in Not and Hilfswerk Niederösterreich. Alles Clara – die App, die Pflegen leichter macht, a non-profit of ERSTE Stiftung supporting family carers, contributed two design challenges. "It is fascinating to see the inspiring solutions that emerge when diverse teams work through such a compact process," says Nicole Traxler, Managing Director of Alles Clara.

The work culminates in a prototype festival at IMC Krems in late January. We'll keep you posted!

🔬🤝 : Making applied research work for businesses

Research only creates real value when businesses and society can benefit from it. This principle shapes the work of our alumna Magdalena Böck, Managing Director of Adalogic GmbH. Together with her team, she transforms developments from applied research into market-ready solutions for businesses.

Magdalena studied Export-Oriented Management, now International Business and Economic Diplomacy, at our IMC Business School. Its international outlook and practical education continue to support her work today. They help her connect scientific potential with market needs and make complex technologies understandable.

🎓 Over the past few weeks, hundreds of students have started their studies at IMC Krems. New timetables, new surroundings and plenty of new experiences can make those first days feel both exciting and overwhelming.

With lectures underway and this week's Welcome Fair behind us, the newest members of our community are settling into campus life. Friendships are forming, confidence is growing and the unfamiliar is becoming familiar.

🌍🤝 Students sharing experiences across borders

Yesterday, our Experience, Mobility & Welcome Fair brought together students who are just getting started, students preparing for their next step and students returning with experiences to share.

At the Mobility Fair, incoming exchange students introduced their home countries and universities, giving valuable insights into studying abroad and the opportunities offered through Erasmus+. At the Experience Fair, students returning from their Practical Training Semester shared what they learned in companies across different industries, helping future interns prepare for a semester of hands-on experience.

The Welcome Fair rounded off the induction period, giving new students the chance to discover our services, connect with partners and pick up a few goodies along the way. Most importantly, it created space for conversations between students, sharing advice, experiences and ideas that often make all the difference.
