Committed to Planet A. EURECA-PRO has a two-fold societal and planetary mission.

European Universities are intended to represent a new form of cooperation between higher education institutions in Europe with the long-term goal of strengthening the excellence the European Higher Education Area. Through its novel approach it, on the one hand, holistically contributes to the highly topical issue of Sustainable Consumption and Production under the umbrella of Sustainable Developme

nt Goal 12, and on the other hand it effectively contributes to the development of the European Higher Education Area complimentarily to Sustainable Development Goal 4. EURECA-PRO consists of Montanuniversität Leoben (Austria), Technische Universität Bergakademie Freiberg (Germany), Technical University of Crete (Greece), Universidad de León (Spain), Politechnika Śląska (Poland), Universitatea din Petroșani (Romania) and Hochschule Mittweida (Germany), Universiteit Hasselt (Belgium) and Université de Lorraine (France). 🌍 Next week, our EURECA-PRO IRO colleagues from across the alliance will travel to Glasgow to take part in the 36th Annual Conference and Exhibition of the European Association for International Education (EAIE), taking place from 8–11 September 2026.

This year’s theme, “The Rhythm of Revolution,” invites participants to question, collaborate and create lasting change — a vision that strongly resonates with the European Universities alliances.
