Launch of the Knowledge-Sharing Platform www.LaDocumenta.eu
Europe’s leading period-instrument ensembles open the doors to their interpretive knowledge.
Over two years, conductors, musicologists, researchers and digital specialists worked together to build a European infrastructure dedicated to preserving, documenting and transmitting knowledge related to musical performance.
Today, this ambition is accessible to all through LaDocumenta.eu.
Every concert rests on an extensive process of research, experimentation and transmission: historical sources, musicological reflections, annotated scores, instrumentation choices, rehearsal methodologies and pedagogical resources. This knowledge constitutes an essential part of European musical heritage yet often remains scattered or difficult to access.
LaDocumenta.eu gathers and documents these resources at every stage of the creative process: production preparation, rehearsals, interpretive decisions, recordings and pedagogical transmission.
« We affirm that this knowledge does not belong to us alone — it is part of a shared European commons: that of understanding and transmitting musical heritage through the practice of interpretation.” (Joint declaration of the founding artistic directors.)
LaDocumenta.eu is a European infrastructure dedicated to the documentation, preservation and transmission of historically informed performance practices.
