Poetry Off the Page

As PoP comes to a close, one of the ways we hope to contribute to future poetry performance scholarship is through a network on the H-Net platform that serves to connect researchers and practitioners across the globe! https://networks.h-net.org/h-poetry-performance

H-Poetry-Performance, as our network is called, is already up, and will be officially launched TOMORROW and FRIDAY!

The launch event will include presentations by Julia Lajta-Novak, Marit MacArthur, and Peter Howarth (swipe to see their topics), online discussions, and presentations of scholars' research. We only have a few slots remaining for you to introduce your work in the meetings, so sign up now! There is also an option to introduce your work via the H-Net platform in writing. At the event, we will also give everyone an introduction to the platform and show you all it has to offer!

You can join us in any of three separate Zoom sessions, each featuring a different keynote speaker and research presentations. If you cannot join us at one of the Zoom sessions, you are welcome to participate on the H-Net platform directly, where we hope to have some lively discussions!

🎉Announcing PoP's Goodbye Event🎉
You are kindly invited to our end-of-project event on 29 September. Come celebrate 5 years of Poetry Off the Page!
The online and in-person event will include:
- A brief retrospective on the project, its research outcomes, and its legacy
- Future prospects, including the launch of a collaborative network for scholars of poetry performance via the H-Net platform
- A reception with food and drinks for those attending in person
- And last but not least: a live performance by Kat François, World Poetry Slam Champion and a multi-talented artist and teacher, based in the UK.

On August 18th, the PoP team internally celebrated a project nearly completed. 🎉
After our morning jour fixe, we traveled through the city and shared memories of Vienna. Then we attended an excellent - and hilarious - improv hosted by Jim Libby of the English Lovers
We ended the day by going out for a final, delicious meal together. It was a beautiful way to round off 5 years of working together.

This post marks the beginning of the end of the Poetry Off the Page project. We'll be announcing our final public event tomorrow - which we hope you will all attend - and will be sharing goodbye posts from team members in the upcoming weeks.
