Das bedeutet für die zukünftigen Studierenden: Das Aufnahmeverfahren geht in die nächste Runde, und die Prüfungen (vor Ort) finden am 30. Juni und 1. Juli statt.

Our three WU bachelor’s degree programs have once again proved to be hugely popular – with almost 𝟏𝟑,𝟎𝟎𝟎 𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬, applicant numbers have hit another record high in 2026! 🎉🎉🎉

For our prospective students, this means that the selection procedure will enter its next stage, and the (on-site) entrance exams will take place on June 30 and July 1.

One thing is new this year: There will be exam preparation days on June 27 and 29 to help you prepare for the admission procedures; you can register for these:

Am 10. Juni diskutiert die Steuerexpertin bei „Globale Mindeststeuer vs. Steueroasen“ an der WU Wien über Steuergerechtigkeit. Als Vice President Tax Group bei der OMV AG ist Reichart regelmäßig in Vorhaben der Steuergesetzgebung involviert.

Gemeinsam mit Tibor Hanappi (Internationaler Währungsfonds), Jana Schultheiß (Arbeiterkammer Wien) und Alfons Weichenrieder (Goethe Universität und WU Wien) werden Fragen beleuchtet, wie z.B.

On June 10, the tax expert will discuss tax justice at the event “Global Minimum Tax vs. Tax Havens” at the Vienna University of Economics and Business (WU). As Vice President of the Tax Group at OMV AG, Reichart is regularly involved in tax legislation initiatives.

Together with Tibor Hanappi (International Monetary Fund), Jana Schultheiß (Vienna Chamber of Labor) and Alfons Weichenrieder (Goethe University and WU Vienna), they will explore questions such as:

Der Universitätsrat der 𝐖𝑼 𝐖𝐢𝐞𝐧 hat Univ.-Prof. Dr. Rupert Sausgruber für eine zweite Amtszeit bis 30. September 2031 wiederbestellt. Seine zweite Amtsperiode beginnt am 1. Oktober 2027.

🎓 Rupert Sausgruber selbst erklärt:
„Die WU hat ihre starke Entwicklung in den letzten Jahren fortgesetzt. Wir behaupten uns in internationalen Rankings, unsere Studienprogramme zählen zu den nachgefragtesten in Österreich sowie auch in Europa, und die Expertise unserer Forscher*innen hat einen starken Impact auf Wirtschaft, Gesellschaft und Politik.“

The University Board of 𝐖𝑼 𝐕𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐧𝐚 University of Economics and Business has reappointed WU’s current Rector, Rupert Sausgruber, for another term, which will run until September 30, 2031. His second term begins on October 1, 2027.

🎓 Rupert Sausgruber himself says:
“WU has kept going strong in the past few years. We hold our own in international rankings, our degree programs are among the most sought-after in Austria and across Europe, and our researchers have a significant impact on business, society, and policymaking through their strong expertise. Given the looming budget cuts, huge efforts will undoubtedly be needed on our part to maintain what we have achieved and remain successful. I’m ready to take up this challenge, and I firmly believe that we’ll master this phase at WU with our strong sense of community, hard work and dedication, and our clear focus on quality.”
