Der Hochschüler_innenschaft an der Universität für angewandte Kunst obliegt die Vertretung der allgemeinen und studienbezogenen Interessen ihrer Miglieder, gegenüber staatlichen Behörden und universitären Organen. Weiters die Mitwirkung in staatlichen Behörden und Einrichtungen, im Senat sowie in dessen Kommissionen und Unterkommissionen. Begutachtung von Gesetzesentwürfen, welche die Angelegenheiten von Studierenden betreffen.

Free screening of two award-winning documentaries honouring Soviet-era dissidents Natalya Gorbanevskaya and Viktor Fainberg at the University of Applied Arts Vienna (Auditorium, VZA7) this Friday, April 24th, 17:00-20:00. Passing by for part of it is totally fine!

In the open-mic live discussion with the director, Ksenia Sakharnova, coming to Vienna from Warsaw, we’ll touch on punitive psychiatry, anti-war protest, political imprisonment, and resistance to a dictatorship :)

experiment exploring the continuing relevance of the late theorist’s ideas on
capitalism, culture, and the future.
Blending documentary, performance, and hauntological fiction, the film follows
Parkins — a time-slipped character — through ghostly landscapes and digital
spaces, tracing Fisher’s thought from the 1990s to our algorithmic present.
Created collaboratively by over 70 artists through Instagram

OPEN CALL — PRIDE VIENNA 2026 FLOAT

The Student Union of the University of Applied Arts Vienna (hufak) and the Student Union of the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (hmdw) are looking for artistic contributions for our PRIDE float at the Vienna Pride Parade on June 13, 2026.

We are commissioning the following roles:

— Float decoration & banner design (individual or team)
Development and realization of a visual concept for the float, including banners and overall decoration.

Fee: 800 €
Materials budget: 1,000 €
The design should communicate Pride as a political demonstration and reflect a critical stance toward commercialization.
