DPP offers five master's degrees in public policy, and the public policy track of the Doctor of Philosophy in Political Science program. During the 2020-21 academic year, the (at the time), concluded its first Strategic Review, evaluating the Unit in relation to its mission and its development, and identifying strategic directions for its further development. The CEU Senate approved the proposal to rename the School back to the identity under which public policy programs began at CEU in 2006 – as the Department of Public Policy (DPP), as of the start of the Academic Year 2021-22.

CEU DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC POLICY PROGRAMS:
�Master of Public Administration (MPA) - 2 YEARS. This is our masters designed for those who have come from and/or will go back into working in the policy field as change makers. Bridging classroom and experiential learning, this program provides you with applied education in policy management, leadership and advocacy. Flexible courses allow specializations including in development, governance, and social justice & human rights. The Skills for Impact program will equip you with real-life skills in conflict resolution, fundraising, media advocacy and law. You will also work directly as ‘consultants’ on a tailor-made project for an external client during the year-long team-based capstone Applied Policy Project. This intensive program gives you a solid grounding in the key themes and theories of public policy, with a strong focus on the link between policy practice and analysis. Our curriculum, infused with real-world issues, guarantees that you will enhance your research, systematic and critical analytical skills. �MA in International Public Affairs ( ) / 2 YEARS / International Public Affairs captures two dimensions of study: on the one hand, the international, which includes governance on the regional, global and transnational levels; and on the other hand, the public, which includes interaction among the government, private and the voluntary sector. � Executive Master of Public Administration (EMPA) / 2-4 YEARS / This program equips future change-makers with the knowledge and applied skills to tackle contemporary problems through policy processes at the sub-national, national and global levels. The EMPA program is problem-focused and centered on relating theory to practice. It provides experiential learning to further develop critical skills such as team dynamics, communications and conflict management by using an inter-disciplinary and integrated practice-based approach, which builds upon the candidate’s own experience.
