Dr Raquel Ho represented the Adelaide Institute of Higher Education (AIHE) at the 2026 Australasian Academic Integrity Network (AAIN) Forum, held online on 11 September 2026 and hosted by Deakin University and Flinders University. The forum brought together higher education professionals to share research, experiences and strategies for strengthening academic integrity, including emerging challenges associated with generative artificial intelligence (GenAI).

Dr Ho facilitated a roundtable discussion titled “Shaping Academic Integrity Through Ongoing Student Workshops: An Institutional Initiative.” She shared AIHE's experience in delivering regular academic integrity workshops since 2024, focusing on referencing, paraphrasing, responsible GenAI use and AI literacy. The presentation highlighted how the workshops have evolved to meet changing student needs, along with practical lessons about student engagement, accessibility and participation.

The discussion also provided an opportunity to exchange ideas with colleagues from other institutions on strengthening academic integrity education and supporting students throughout their learning journey.

Adelaide Institute of Higher Education (AIHE) Cultural Week 2026 brought the campus to life with a week of activities celebrating cultures, traditions, and communities from around the world.

From 14–18 September, students and staff took part in a range of activities, including a fun Treasure Hunt, global food and drinks, photo booth activities, and exciting prizes.

The week’s main event featured the Treasure Hunt Grand Finale reveal, followed by an international food tasting.

The celebrations continued with Cultural Movie Screenings, giving participants the chance to experience stories and perspectives from different parts of the world.

Students were also encouraged to wear their cultural attire or bring something meaningful that represented their heritage, creating opportunities to share stories, celebrate diversity, and learn from one another.

The event was a vibrant celebration of culture, connection, and inclusivity, highlighting the diverse community that makes AIHE a welcoming place to learn and grow.

Academic Integrity Workshop: AI at Work 💻

Blair Murphy, Founder and Co-CEO of Sequential, recently delivered the “AI at Work: Practical Applications for Business Productivity” workshop, sharing practical insights into how AI is being used in real-world business environments.

The session explored how AI has evolved beyond content generation to support activities such as prototyping, communication, knowledge management, workflow automation, product management, and software development.

A key focus was the importance of providing AI with relevant business context and maintaining human judgement and oversight. Through practical examples, Blair demonstrated how AI can help improve productivity while people remain responsible for reviewing and approving AI-generated work.

The workshop encouraged participants to start with small, repetitive tasks, clearly document processes, and experiment with practical AI-supported solutions that can be refined over time.

The session was attended by AIHE MBA, Graduate Certificate in Management (GCM), and Bachelor of Business students, as well as AIHE staff, providing valuable insights into the thoughtful and productive use of AI in contemporary workplaces.

We are delighted to welcome Becky Cuellar and Stefani Sugiarto to the Adelaide Institute of Higher Education (AIHE) team. Becky will be based at our Adelaide Campus while Stefani will be based at our Melbourne Campus, strengthening our presence and capability across both locations.

Their appointments represent an important investment in AIHE’s continued growth and, in particular, our commitment to strengthening Work Integrated Learning (WIL) and alumni engagement. Stefani and Becky will primarily support WIL activities, helping to build stronger connections between our students, industry, and the workplace, while also strengthening our engagement with AIHE alumni. Their work will help expand practical learning opportunities and deepen our industry and alumni connections.
