Safe, effective and quality-assured medicines save lives, improve health outcomes, and strengthen communities.

By backing local leaders, Australia is helping deliver lasting health outcomes, strengthen health security, and contribute to stronger regional partnerships and shared health outcomes.

Funded by the Australia Government, an Australia Awards Fellowship delivered by the Therapeutic Goods Administration - TGA, brought seven health and regulatory leaders from Fiji, Malaysia, the Federated States of Micronesia, Solomon Islands, Tuvalu and Vanuatu to learn from Australian industry and experts about pharmaceutical governance, regulatory best practice and health system strengthening.

During their visit to Australia, Fellows developed reform plans that will be used to improve access to essential medicines in their communities back home. Beyond technical skills and professional development, the Fellowship laid the groundwork for ongoing collaboration, knowledge-sharing and health cooperation across the region.
