The Adelaide University AIAA Aerospace Club is for students with an interest in aeronautics and astronautics and is open to all University students, not just those studying the Aerospace Engineering degree. The Adelaide University Student Branch of the AIAA was established in March 1999, and i

s based in the School of Mechanical Engineering. For a small annual membership fee ($5), branch members have the opportunity to take part in activities including:

Free members' BBQ's throughout the year

Social activities with students with interest in the aerospace field, as well as local industry dignitaries

Annual careers evening with unique networking opportunities and presentations from local and international aerospace industries

Adelaide University Student Branch membership is independent from membership of the AIAA Professional Society. You do not have to be an AIAA society member to join the Student Branch.

Hello everyone, this month’s fact focuses on the GAF Jindivik, an early example of Australian Unmanned Aircraft development, a legacy carried on by today’s Boeing MQ-27 Ghostbat. 🇦🇺✈️

This month’s fact covers Blackburn’s Buccaneer bomber, a very capable attack aircraft of the 1960s. Further reading is recommended as it is an aircraft heavily wrapped up in the British Aero-Industry politics of the time. 🏴‍☠️✈️⚓️🇬🇧

Yesterday some of the AUDBF Committee had the wonderful opportunity to attend the Sir Ross and Sir Keith Smith Fund: 40 Years of Impact Celebration, held at the Vickers Vimy Museum at Adelaide Airport. It was a fascinating event and we would like to sincerely thank the Smith Fund for the invitation and for their support of the AUDBF.
