4 children entered the play space, after "spying * on us from the bushes for about 5 minutes.
After this they all ran into the play space, explored the loose parts and then set on wrapping boxes in sring, wool and rope. Their play continued for 2 hours, where the play frame extended way beyond the Pop-Up, to include the playground and other environmental factors, such as, trees, borders of new trees and other loose parts.
As the flow of play continued, we see deep involvement in the space, the inclusion of other children, who moved in and out of the play cycle.
This filled my Playwork heart with joy. These children had time, space and an environment ready for play. Their adults stood back and revelled in what was happening, not adulterating the space, but laughing and talking amongst themselves about what was evolving.
It was a joy and a privilege to see.
