German at UofA You will be able to see - and share - interesting links about linguistic, grammatical, and cultural topics.

This site is for both students enrolled in German Studies at the University of Adelaide and people in Adelaide interested in German and the German speaking countries in general. This site is supposed to enable you to immerse yourself in the German language and culture as much as possible considering you're not living in Germany, Switzerland or Austria. You'll get to know more ways of learning abou

t German and Germany outside of the classroom. Or maybe you've started learning German at High School, but sort of stopped and never got around to it again. Have you ever heard about the "Weiße Rose"? It was a a non-violent resistance group in the Third Reich, led by a group of students at the University of Munich.
Now Christoph Probst, one of the resistance fighters of the "Weiße Rose", was honoured on the occasion of his 100th birthday with the naming of a barracks in Germany:

Eine späte Ehre für den 1943 hingerichteten Widerstandskämpfer: Christoph Probst, Mitglied der Gruppe „Weiße Rose“ ist nun Namenspatron einer Bundeswehrkaserne. Dass die bisher namenslose Kaserne nach ihm benannt wird, war ein Wunsch der Soldaten.
