FLSA Committee Vacancies Open!

We’re on the hunt for two new faces to join the FLSA Committee:

1. Activities and Wellbeing Representative
Help bring FLSA’s social and wellbeing calendar to life. You’ll work alongside the Director of Activities & Wellbeing to help plan and run events for the cohort, from Law Ball to wellbeing initiatives.

2. Sponsorship Representative
Get hands-on experience engaging with the legal profession. You’ll assist the Treasurer in maintaining existing sponsorship relationships and help build new connections with firms, organisations and the wider community to support FLSA.

Keen to get more involved with FLSA? These roles are a great opportunity to build your CV, meet people across the cohort, develop practical skills, and help shape what FLSA does this year.

Applications for Legal Services’ 2027 Summer Clerkship are currently open and will be closing 30 August 2026!
 
The paid Clerkship will run for three weeks from Monday 1 February 2027 to Friday 19 February 2027.
 
Legal Services prioritise applications from those going into their final year of their legal studies, however, they accept applications from law students at all stages of their degree. They should demonstrate a desire to work in the legal assistance sector, and specifically for Legal Services.

The Library and Flinders Law are excited to announce that Lexis+AI Protégé is now available.

Protégé is an AI-powered product that allows natural language queries, drawing from authoritative sources published by LexisNexis to assist with legal research and drafting.

To help you become familiar with this tool, we have organised introductory sessions hosted by LexisNexis. These sessions will cover:

• Lexis Protégé AI orientation: what the tool is and how it works
• Prompting best practices for legal research
• Responsible AI use in an academic environment
• Student‑focused use cases to support coursework and research
• Available support resources
