Flinders’ night of nights, the annual Alumni Awards Gala, is underway at the Adelaide Town Hall, bringing together more than 250 guests to recognise the outstanding achievements of 10 graduates and celebrate our 60th anniversary in style! ⭐

Our awardees are changing the lives of autoimmune disease sufferers through world-first cell therapy, championing greater diversity and cultural understanding through food and storytelling, advancing environmental reform and social progress, addressing educational inequality for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, fostering STEM engagement to inspire future generations of scientists, and so much more!

Curious about what it's like to study Nursing at Flinders? 👀

A few nursing students recently stepped into our brand-new City Campus nursing labs for a pilot simulation training day, using realistic manikins that can breathe, speak and make sounds.

Students practiced respiratory assessment, oxygen therapy, suction and clinical reasoning in a hands-on, supportive environment, with guidance from our Clinical Nurse Simulation Educators.

Third year Bachelor of Paramedicine (NT) students recently put their skills to the test in a Mass Casualty Incident training exercise at our Casuarina campus in Darwin. 🚨

The simulated scenario: a single vehicle rollover, 150km from the nearest town with a hospital - skid marks, shattered glass and multiple "casualties" scattered nearby.

As lecturer Sam Yeates puts it: "These incidents are rare but high stress, and in remote regions resources are overwhelmed fast. That's why hands-on practice matters before students face the real thing." 💪

Thank you to the Flinders University students who volunteered as accident victims, and to St John NT for their guidance on the day.
