Postgraduate Student Committee - PSC, Curtin Student Guild

Postgraduate Student Committee - PSC, Curtin Student Guild Postgraduates working for postgraduates. The Curtin Guild PSC represents the interests of Curtinโ€™s postgraduate community.

As a branch of the Guild, we are dedicated to supporting our members in their studies and making sure that their time at university is the best possible experience. The PSC reaches across all disciplines and embraces both research and coursework studies. Our PSC members sit on a variety of boards both within the university and the Guild, ensuring that the postgraduate voice is heard and that any c

oncerns are brought back to the students. We also host social events where postgraduate students can network with each other and have some fun together, and also offer a range of grants to financially support our members. In short, the PSC is dedicated to improving the quality of postgraduate life at Curtin.

G'day, I'm Mitch (He/Him), your 2023 Postgraduate Students Committee President and an HDR candidate researching dry mineral processing in the WA School of Mines: Minerals, Energy and Chemical Engineering and I completed my undergrad degree here at Curtin as well. I am committed to representing all postgrad students vigorously for the coming year. I hope that I can leave the postgrad experience at Curtin better when I finish as PSC President than when I started.

Some of my main goals for the upcoming year are:
- Improve engagement with postgrads through events and spending time with students.
- Surveying the postgraduate students and candidates to find out what matters most to students and make sure the PSC is targeting its resources in the best places.
- Improving and consolidating HDR forms, policies and procedures into one place and making things consistent and simpler for students.
- Ensuring that research candidates are recognised as junior academics and treated with the respect they deserve.
- Making the experience of studying at Curtin better for all students.
- Bringing more Cricket to campus.

If you have any queries throughout the year, feel free to reach out via email to [email protected]

I wish you all a safe and enjoyable holiday period and I look forward to seeing more of all of you in the New Year!
