Don't miss the traditional Tamil music workshop this Saturday conducted by UQ Tamil Society - UQTAS in partnership with Varnam Cultural Society.

About Parai Music: The 'Parai' is a traditional percussion instrument from Tamil Nadu, South India, consisting of a large circular drum and two sticks. 'Parai' holds significant cultural and social importance for Tamils worldwide, which has been used as a medium of communication, protest and celebration throughout history. The high-energy beats of the 'Parai' have also inspired modern music genres like Electronic Dance Music and Hip-Hop.
