It takes a pretty special occasion to bring the Queensland Conservatorium Gamelan outside the building for the first time in more than 20 years.

That occasion was MONO x Ipswich Art Gallery - an unforgettable evening of sound, movement and music that transformed the gallery into a living performance space.
The night featured performances by Primitive Motion, Heinz Riegler, Unregistered Master Builder, Liam Keenan & J.WLSN, Cloudy Ku, Juliet Burnett, Akio Suzuki & Hiromi Miyakita, Vanessa Tomlinson, and the Queensland Conservatorium Gamelan Ensemble. A huge thank you to curator Lawrence English, the Gamelan moving crew, ensemble leader Lena Ito, and our incredible performers: Jorel James, Laura McCormick, Jadyn Morgan, Christian Panjaitan, Oliver Rofe, Cloud Tan, Kieran van Acker, Belita Welsh, and Mitchell Wilson.
