Our Resource Delivery service is now available directly within Library search.

With our Resource Delivery service (formerly document delivery), you can request resources we do not hold in our Library collection and scanned copies of journal articles and book chapters from within our Library print collection.

Resource Delivery within Library Search offers a streamlined and convenient new requesting experience. Save time with prefilled resource details and view and manage your requests in the Requests section of your Library account in Library Search.

We offer a Rush service (service fee applicable) for those times when you need the item more quickly in addition to our Standard service (free). Due to low demand the Express 2-hour service will no longer be offered.

Available to all UQ students, staff and hospital staff who are Library members.

Fryer Folios Volume 14 celebrates the people and collections that help tell Queensland’s story.

From 9 to 13 October, Central Library will have a temporary air-conditioning outage for electrical upgrades ahead of summer.

🌞 Central Library will remain open but will be warmer than usual. You may prefer to use an alternative study space during this time. Other library spaces, including the connected Duhig Tower, will have air conditioning as usual.

🌞 AskUs will operate from Dorothy Hill Engineering and Sciences Library during this time.

The 2026 King’s Birthday public holiday is on Monday 5 October and we hope that you have a great long weekend. Here are the UQ Library opening hours details for the holiday:

💳 24/7 spaces and collections will be available to UQ students and staff with their UQ ID cards. This includes the Biological Sciences, Central, Dorothy Hill Engineering and Sciences, JK Murray (UQ Gatton) and Walter Harrison Law libraries.

🧑‍💻 AskUs will be available to provide library and IT help between 12 and 5pm on the phone and via chat. Students and staff can also visit AskUs on Level 1 of Central Library using their UQ ID card for access.

🏢 Other spaces, services and collections will be closed. We'll reopen as usual on Tuesday 6 October.

📢 Noisy work at JK Murray Library

Construction work, including concrete drilling, will take place outside the Level 2 entrance between 6am and 3pm during the week of 28 September.

Please use the Level 1 Undercroft entrance to access the JK Murray Library. The Level 2 main entrance will be temporarily closed while construction work takes place. The JK Murray Library will be open as usual during this time.

If you are visiting the JK Murray Library, you may like to:
bring a set of noise-cancelling headphones
collect a pair of earplugs from the AskUs service point.

From 7 to 11 September 2026, we have R U OK? Day activations in the Duhig Tower, JK Murray (UQ Gatton) Library and Herston and Dutton Park health sciences libraries. Check out the activations, browse the information and support resources.

At Duhig Tower and JK Murray Library: participate in the activities by:
🤝Telling us how confident you are to have a conversation with someone who is struggling by placing a sticker on the poster
🤝Writing a tip for having a meaningful conversation with someone on the whiteboard.
At Herston and Dutton Park libraries, grab some tea and biscuits to have a mindful moment or as a conversation starter with a friend!

Last week, we welcomed Professor Paul Harpur, Associate Professor Bernadette Richards, Dr Charlotte Young and PhD candidate Brooke Szucs to UQ Library for Imagining Inclusive AI at UQ: Disability, Access and Design.

💬 It was a fantastic conversation exploring digital inclusion, accessibility and the design of emerging technologies, including AI.

For our early birds 🐦 and night owls 🦉 working at the Biological Sciences Library over the next couple of nights.

There will be 2 power outages:
📆 Days: Wednesday 26 and Thursday 27 August
⏰ Time: Between 4 and 8am.

Biological Sciences Library will be closed during this time. You can use the nearby Central Library or other 24/7 library spaces, which will be open as usual.
