The same exercise can feel very different when the tempo changes.
Slowing the lowering phase can increase the demand for control. Adding a pause can make a position harder to maintain. Moving with more intent can change how the exercise is experienced without automatically increasing the load.
Tempo gives trainers another way to shape an exercise around technique, control, and the purpose of the session.
