The School of Pharmacy at The University of Queensland is the longest established School of Pharmacy in Queensland, celebrating 50 years of world-class education in 2010. The recent relocation of the School to the state-of-the-art, purpose built facility that is The Pharmacy Australia Centre of Excellence (PACE) means UQ Pharmacy students enjoy the very best facilities and an education experience
that puts them at the forefront of their field. Students enjoy the benefits of a brand new, purpose-built facility that is co-located with Queensland Health, The Pharmaceutical Society of Australia and UQ Healthcare. The facility boasts: modern, well equipped teaching and research laboratories and pharmacy counselling rooms, Innovative teaching dispensaries incorporating state-of-the art pharmacy computing systems and a 365 seat lecture theatre with the latest Audio Visual technologies. The UQ Health Sciences Library is on-site, incorporating many group and individual study spaces, as well as over 100 computers for students use. Wi-Fi capability and a variety of indoor and outdoor student interaction spaces are available throughout the precinct. Undergraduate Study (Bachelor of Pharmacy Degree)
The Bachelor of Pharmacy (Honours) is the School's undergraduate program, which runs over 4 years, full time. Completion of the program plus an additional 48 week paid internship provides eligibility for registration as a pharmacist in Australia. UQ Pharmacy Intern Training Program (ITP)
Our ITP provides intern pharmacists with specialised training and skills in pharmacy practice, while providing the opportunity to gain a formal postgraduate qualification (Graduate Certificate in Pharmacy Practice)
Postgraduate Clinical Pharmacy (coursework)
An innovative, flexible suite of postgraduate coursework programs are offered to registered pharmacists, such as the Graduate Certificate in Clinical Pharmacy, Graduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy or Master of Clinical Pharmacy. These programs have been developed to produce highly-skilled graduates to meet the current demand for clinical pharmacists in hospitals and other health care settings. Postgraduate Research
The School offers a range of postgraduate research opportunities including Doctor of Philosophy & Masters of Philosophy. Research Higher Degree candidates (RHD) have access to state-of-the-art laboratory space located within the School of Pharmacy at the Pharmacy Australia Centre of Excellence.
