Danger winners: congratulations Bob Bottom and Hedley Thomas - both recognised on Friday at the Sydney Crime Writers Festival. Hedley won the Danger Prize for his influential podcast 'Teacher's Pet' (50 million+ downloads) about the 1982 disappearance of Lyn Dawson. Bob, described by festival chair Michael Duffy as 'a journalistic superhero' who 'in his books and journalism in the 1970s and 80s introduced an innocent Australia to the concept of organised crime', was given the Danger Lifetime Achievement Award. Jschool is especially proud as both these top journos have accepted the honorary Doctor of Journalism award from Jschool.

Best of luck to Jschool journalism law lecturer David Anderson in your run on Fraser Island tomorrow as part of the Commonwealth Games Queen's Baton relay. David, a former ABC radio news executive producer and Brisbane Telegraph senior court reporter, has been recognised for his extensive community service, including presidency of Fraser Island Association and active member of the First Responders Group.
