Our cover photo is of macadamia nuts, also referred to as kindal kindal, boomberaare or Queensland nuts. They represent our vision for healthy, fair and sustainable food systems and eating. These nuts are a traditional food of First Nations people of the lands surrounding where QUT now stands. They also have an excellent nutrition profile including as a source of mono-unsaturated fats, and protein

. These nut trees are important for our biodiversity and local food production. .... a great symbol for Queensland nut(ritionists)

Hi everyone!

The countdown to our high tea is on! We are looking forward to seeing everyone there. Just a reminder of the details:

Date: Saturday 29 November 2025

Location: Ballroom, Victoria Park Function Centre, 309 Herston Road, Herston.

There is parking at the venue, however as there are other events happening at the same time, the car park can fill up quickly. You may want to consider carpooling. Or, the venue is conveniently located near the Herston Busway.

The event will kick off at 1pm, so meet us on the balcony to register your attendance while enjoying a glass of sparkling!

Some have inquired about the dress code, which is on the dressier side of smart casual 😉

We cannot wait to see you all for an afternoon of fun, laughter, and reminiscing:)

WOW! Look at the original Graduate Diploma in Nutrition and Dietetics at QIT. This diploma took three semesters to complete; starting and finishing in autumn. The course had a broad advisory committee who ranged from dietitians to lecturers in catering management. I wonder what the assessment items looked like in PSP131 Large Scale Feeding, and the subsequent unit PSP132 Practice in Large Scale Feeding?
Let's reminisce at our High Tea on the great times that we have all had during the 50 years of Nutrition and Dietetics at QUT.
Have you secured your ticket yet? We have had a lot of interest from our alumni and it looks like it will be a great afternoon of fun and laughter!

No one knows more about the challenges of diet and Crohn’s disease than the families living with a child diagnosed with Crohn’s disease. We want to hear from YOU!

We are a collaborative team of researchers from Queensland University of Technology and Queensland Children’s Hospital.

The study aims to collect information about the dietary habits of children with Crohn’s and their families, and the possible barriers to eating well. We hope this information will help to develop future diet therapies to support a better quality of life for these children and young people.

If you are a parent or guardian of a child diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease you may click on the link below for more information and a 10-minute survey.
