Rainbow Med is a group for and by Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex, Asexual, Sistergirl and Brotherboy (LGBTQIASB+) medical students, our allies, and people interested in LGBTQIASB+ health at the University of Queensland, Australia. Our aim is to provide resources for:
SOCIAL
To provide an avenue for fun, social networking between LGBTQIASB+ medical and allied health students,
doctors & our allies. SUPPORT
To help LGBTQIASB+ medical and allied health students to find community, resources and a friendly ear. To provide information to support the learning of people interested in LGBTQIASB+ health. DISCUSSION
To provide a forum for discussion of health issues & public policy affecting the LGBTQIASB+ community. ADVOCACY & COLLABORATION
To provide advocacy for and information about LGBTQIASB+ patients and health care professionals, and to promote positive relations between LGBTQIASB+ patients, doctors, and supportive allies in the broader community. ACADEMIC
To conduct curriculum review and advocate for continual improvement for the MD Program at UQ through an LGBTQIASB+ lens. To plan and host events (lectures, workshops) on topics of interest to our members, allies & supporters.
