To make this year’s Ball even more exciting, our 4th students are running a raffle to support their end-of-year OT conference before they graduate! 🎉 The raffle launches this Saturday at the OTSA Ball, so make sure you’re there to secure your tickets. Once you’ve been ticked off and received your wristband, scan the QR codes at the allocated desk to purchase as you arrive. We’ll also have flyers with QR codes around the space if you’d like to buy tickets later in the night.
Ticket prices:
    •    1 ticket for $6 ($6.00 per ticket)
    •    2 tickets for $10 ($5.00 per ticket)
    •    4 tickets for $15 ($3.75 per ticket)
    •    10 tickets for $30 ($3.00 per ticket)
    •    20 tickets for $50 ($2.50 per ticket)

Tickets are limited, so get in early! Can’t make the Ball? Don’t worry, we’re opening the raffle to everyone. It opens on the 17th of October and closes at 6pm on the 1st of November.

Hello everyone! We’ve had a few questions asking us about what being in OTSA is like, and what it involves. So, we thought we’d put a little post together to show you what our year has looked like!💐🕺

OTSA is a group of individuals who support each other and the OT cohort in a variety of different ways. This might look like social events, networking academic events, check-ins to see how students are going, or to be a helping hand when there are questions regarding OT🕺📚🤗.

There are a variety of different roles within our team and each of them have an important part in creating a community that is safe and supporting, and to create impactful events. Being a part of OTSA is a great opportunity to get involved with your peers, meet new OT students, and collaborate with OT staff and people in the community. We create our own workloads, so  nothing is ever too stressful, and if it is, there is always someone to help out because we are a team!!

Come along to our annual general meeting (AGM) this friday if you would like to nominate to be part of the team, or just find out more! We would love to see you there! Feel free to reach out if you have any questions 💚.

A day in the life of 4th Year OT student Kate ⭐️ It sure was a busy one! Kate kicked off the day working on her HRSS4210 Health Sciences project, before heading along to the weekly seminar, “Being the New Kid on the Block” 🤓 There was also time for an OTSA R U OK? Day sausage sizzle, followed by a Paeds Interest Group UQ OT event presented by our President Jax and Alicia! Kate finished off the day with her paediatric specialisation course 👶🏼📚🎓

OTSA is STEPping up this September by walking, riding, dancing, swimming the equivalent of 10,000 steps a day to raise funds for children with cerebral palsy!

Whether through placement experiences or research projects, many of us have seen first-hand the amazing impact that early detection and intervention can do for babies and children with cerebal palsy 💚

Despite our busy studies, our team of 10 amazing students have completed the equivalent of 1,473,753 steps for Steptember 😲

With just 6 weeks of classes left the semester is flying by! Follow along as Summer takes us through a busy day in the life of a 4th year. From attending her OCTY Community Specialisation tutorial, to making progress on her HRSS group project and preparing for her upcoming seminar, there’s plenty happening as the semester starts to wrap up. The long days are worth it as the 4th years begin building towards the student conference in November and graduation! 👀🎓✨
