Since joining Griffith University as Vice Chancellor and President in 2019, Professor Carolyn Evans has led Griffith through a period of extraordinary change, growth and impact.

Under Carolyn’s leadership, Griffith has strengthened its global reputation, risen to #2 in the world in the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings, reached $125 million in philanthropic support through the Campaign to Create a Brighter Future for All, and secured the iconic Treasury Building, expanding Griffith’s Brisbane City campus.

She has also guided Griffith through significant challenges, strengthened our research and partnerships, and remained deeply committed to our students, staff and communities.

Thank you, Carolyn, for seven years of leadership, ambition and commitment to Griffith. We wish you every success for the next chapter.

Our new student accommodation tower is officially open, adding 460 new beds and bringing on-campus accommodation at Griffith University Village to almost 1,000 beds at the Gold Coast camps. 🏡❤️

With studio, two-bedroom and accessible apartments, residents will have access to a range of new shared spaces, including a resort-style pool, gym and yoga studio, yarning circle, collaborative study spaces, cinema, recreation areas and more.

More than just a place to live, the expanded Village gives students the opportunity to live close to class, meet new people and be part of the Griffith community from the moment they arrive.

"The Treasury Building has been a beloved part of Brisbane’s cityscape since 1886, and the structure we know today was completed in 1928. A heritage-listed site drawing on 19th-century English and 16th-century Italian architectural styles, its exterior is covered with sandstone ashlar. Yes, you heard that right. Griffith’s newest (and also oldest) building is a sandstone. But it will also be very Griffith."

Last week Griffith students took part in the HOPE4HEALTH Cherbourg Dental Outreach, helping deliver dental care and oral health support within the Cherbourg community. 🦷❤️

After months of planning, the team transformed a GP clinic at Cherbourg Regional Aboriginal & Islander Community Controlled Health Services (CRAICCHS) into a functioning dental clinic, while also visiting the local aged care facility and primary school.

For students, the outreach provided valuable hands-on experience and a deeper understanding of access to oral healthcare in regional communities, while building meaningful connections with the Cherbourg community.
