Urban Utilities We’re responsible for delivering clean, safe drinking water and wastewater services to Brisbane, Ipswich, Lockyer Valley, Somerset and Scenic Rim.

You can get in touch with us on Facebook from 8 am to 5 pm weekdays. At the heart of everything we do is genuine care: For each other, for our customers and communities, and for the environment. We’re there when our customers need us – whether it’s a simple shower or flush of a toilet; major infrastructure works or new residential developments. Our head office is in Fortitude Valley, Brisbane, but our employees work all over SEQ - including at our SAS Laboratory in Darra, field-based depots in Eagle Farm, Acacia Ridge and Bundamba, and wastewater treatment plants located across our region. Not all fire hydrants look like the ones in the movies. 🚒

Across our region, most are underground – identified by yellow lids and road markings. Our crews maintain more than 100,000 fire hydrants, with renewals and regular inspections helping keep them ready for when they’re needed most.

Have you ever seen a herd of elephants travel from Victoria, through New South Wales, to Queensland by road? We kinda have! This year we moved a special 62 tonne building (the weight of 10 elephants) to help improve the performance of our wastewater network in Kenmore, in Brissy’s west.

Learn more about the recently completed $5.2 million Kenmore Pump Station Upgrade Project, delivered alongside our partner Fulton Hogan, specifically designed to reduce wet weather overflows and odour issues.
