This Giving Day we asked our incredible EAIT students and alumni to describe the moment STEM first sparked their curiosity, and to imagine what a program like Mobile Makerspace might have meant to them growing up in regional and remote Australia.

Thank you to our wonderful community who shared their stories, childhood photos and passion for helping future generations follow in their footsteps.

We hope their stories will inspire you as much as they did us 💜

Save the date: UQ Giving Day is happening on 15 October.

Every student deserves access to high-quality STEM education no matter where they live.

But in some parts of Queensland, students are hours away from the nearest lab or workshop.

This year, we're proud to support the UQ Mobile Makerspace, bringing STEM learning to students in these communities.

Your support helps us reach more QLD kids.

Gifts will be matched dollar-for-dollar for UQ Giving Day*, doubling your impact and reaching even more students.

💛Donate today: https://givingday.uq.edu.au/campaigns/mobile-maker-space/?appeal_id=68a3a65e74488438d9a341aa

* Donations to The UQ Mobile Makerspace Fund will be matched for UQ Giving Day until exhausted.

See the highlights of this year's Women in Engineering Breakfast, hosted by the Women in Engineering Alumni Ambassador Council and The University of Queensland.

The breakfast was centred around UN Women Australia's International Women's Day theme, "March Forward." This theme reminds us that progress is not just about reflection but about taking decisive, bold steps to turn our commitments into action.

The event brought together a keynote by Sinead Kaufman (Chief Executive, Minerals, Rio Tinto), followed by a panel with Helen Adamson (Regional Managing Director Australasia, Hatch);
Jacqui Bridge (Executive General Manager, Energy Futures, Powerlink Queensland), and Evelyn Storey (Executive Director & Director of Eminence and Sustainability, Aurecon).
